Behr Paint Rollers VS. The Cheap Guys

There has been a lot of painting going on in our house these past several weeks.  My husband is finally getting close to the end.  Yay, we here the crowd cheer!  Today as he is finishing the kitchen (Finally!) he comments how awesome the Behr rollers are vs. the cheaper ones. 

Usually when we would paint we would just buy what ever rollers are the cheapest.  Never again he says.  Think back to the last time you painted.  Did you get the cheap ones or the Behr brand or a similar product?  I am sure if you got one of the cheaper one you remember picking the icky stuff off the wall.  How the roller would pick up that "stuff" and transfer it to your wall.  Not cool.  Not with the Behr rollers.  Just by looking at the rollers you can tell the difference. 

So, in this instance spending a little more money is definitely the way to go.  If you know you are going to be doing some painting, watch for sales at Home Depot and stock up.  I did notice at Home Depot.com they had a sale on the Behr Rollers.

Is This Really My Home?

Alright, the last 3 weeks now my lovely husband has been painting.  I will admit, it was pretty exciting at first.  We were excited for the new fresh walls.  The clean feeling it was bring our home and the fun new colors we were adding into our home. 

Well, we are still painting.  Somewhat excited and the new color seems so far away.  My husband works all day and I understand the last thing he wants to do is come home and paint.  Let's just get the excitement back.  My house is not my clean, organized house anymore. 

I am what some may call a clean freak.  It is something I am working on.  I like my house clean and everything in it's place.  Biggest pet peeves:

• Shoes being left on in my house. 
• Not washing your hands.
• Biting your fingernails.

Trust me, I am so working on these.  Anyway, I didn't have to work today so I was looking around this morning and decided to snap these pictures.

Big deep breath in and then blow it out.  Shake it out.  There, that wasn't so bad.  : ) 

I will say I have cleaned the kitchen and done the laundry.  Good heavens I could not leave that there.  The other items are up to my sweet husband.  Let's hope we get our paint on tonight!! 

Week One Of Painting Is DONE!

My husband started painting last Friday.  The plan is to paint the family room, kitchen, dining room and downstairs bathroom (half bath).  So far we haven't finished the living room yet.  We have some work to do!  The living room colors are white (I though cream so a little bummed about that) and tan.  Ok, it's off-white as Doug would say but to me that is the same as white.  Little picky? I know, but I just wanted cream.  Sitll really excited for the tan to be added.  I hope he starts that tonight. 

Here is what my main level has looked like for a week.  A little unorganized, which I do not like.  I like things clean, organized and put in their places.  Big sigh, I am learning to deal with those issues.

This is one of the walls getting painting tan.  Doug says he can't do it.  We shall see about that.  

The walls on either side of the fireplace will be tan as well.  Excited for that!  



The ladder is now gone and the plastic and put away.  We have had a place to sit all week. 

I am excited for week #2 of painting to begin.  I hope the family room gets finished and onto the kitchen.  Grace so badly wants to help.  Those will be some fun photos!
