Six Winter MUST Haves for Your Skin!!

Every winter I say the same thing, " I hate how dry and itchy my skin gets!!"  I have literally tried every product out there.  My skin not only gets dry like I'm sure many of yours does, but it cracks and bleeds too.  Totally gross and so painfull!  It got to the point where I was having to keep Band-Aids in my purse for ME!  Not the kiddos.

Over the years I have actually gotten a collection of my winter "Must Haves" and want to share it with YOU!  Not only does my skin get very dry, crack and itchy it is also very sensitive to many products.  The products listed below help with not only dry skin, but help keep my skin feeling soft, rejuvenated and they do not cause redness, itchiness or irritation.  Perfect for those with a brutal winter and dry skin!!

  1. AVON Skin So Soft  - A favorite of thousands for many years and for good reason.  Not only can Avon's SSS help with your dry skin it makes an awesome bug repellant!  Check out the 30 plus reasons you need to have Skin So Soft in your home HERE.  I always make sure I have a back up bottle in my home!!
  2. AVON Skin So Soft Winter Soft Body Cream - With Hydroseal Complex this body cream is non greasy, goes on smooth and makes my entire body feel soft and smooth.  Love the scent!
  3. SPECTRUM ESSENTIALS Organic Coconut Oil - This is the perfect choice for a natural body care.  It does have a strong coconut scent which I love.  It can be greasy when first applied, but it really helps dry, itchy skin.
  4. O'KEEFF'S Working Hands - Made just for the hands and it DOES work!  What I love is I can apply it and go on with my daily routine.  It is NOT greasy, wet or sticky feeling.  It does not have a strong scent so it is great for men or women.  It is made for dry hands that crack or split.
  5. AVON Naturals Hand and Body Lotion - You cannot go wrong with Avon Naturals Body Lotions.  Many great scents to choose from plus leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and smelling great!  With the great low price they also make great gifts!  I love the convenient travel size perfect to keep in your purse or anywhere.
  6. AVON Lip Balm - A Must Have every winter is lip balm.  My favorite has always been Avon.  Any kind really will do but be sure it has SPF 15.  We need to protect our beautiful lips from those nasty rays.  Avon Care is one of my favorites.

AVON!! Bold Lips and Brows

Bold Lips and Brows!

Sultry, smoky eyes are great for festive occasions, but they can be hard to re-create on your own.  This holiday season I found it easier to simplify the primping and put the focus on color-intense lips and full brows.  The look is pretty, polished, and (best of all) easy to achieve.

One of my favorite lipsticks from Avon is Avon's Ultra Color Bold Lipstick.  This amazing lipcolor line contains 50 percent more pigment than is found in traditional lipsticks.  At only $8 each this is a must have!!

After years of soft, sheer glosses' dominating the beauty market, strong lips are taking the center stage again.  What the new lipsticks don't share with their older counterparts is a technology to dry out lips.  Today's creamy varieties are packed with pigments (making it possible to get full coverage with one swipe) and often boast moisturizing humectants, like hyaluronic acid.

One of the best and most popular new lipsticks from Avon is Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick.  Formulated with Color Complete Complex featuring six beauty boosters - Vitamin E, Phytol, Vitamin C, 50% moisturizing ingredients in every stick, SPF 15, and Collagen - this creamy lipstick is rich in moisture, conditioners, and antioxidants.

It continues to work even after you have taken it off and help lips look their best. A clinical study shows that lips look healthier after using new Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick. And with new Color Reveal technology, Avon’s breakthrough self-renewing pigments, this multitasking lipstick also delivers vibrant looking color, in 12 stunning shades.  Regularly priced $9 On sale NOW for $5.99!!

To balance bold tones, go for equally bold brows.  "Your were born with the brow that was right for you.  Work with that thick thickness to hone the arch," says Los Angeles celebrity eyebrow specialist Anastasia Soare.

"When your eyebrows look good, people notice," said Maybelline New York's global brow expert, Maribeth Madron.  "when they're wrong-too bushy or overplucked-they pull away focus."  A well shaped brow is the visual equivalent of a face-lift.  Below, are your must have brow-care essentials.

Arch - Slant-edged tweezers are the easiest to use.  Always keep a pair of tweezers handy to nab errant hairs.  I love my Ergonomic Tweezers from Avon.  Sale - $3.99 (item #790-587)

Accentuate - Also a must have!!  The kit's tinted powder and wax "fills gaps and create structure"  Will find kits similar for $32!!  Avon - $4.99!!

Taking Care Of Your Make-Up Brushes

Make-up brushes can be easy to care for if you know how.  Remember, even if you are the only one using your brushes – and you are the only one who should be) your brushes harbor germs and oil that you are putting back on your face each time you use them.  Natural bristle brushes can be cleaned using any good skin cleanser which does not contain oil.  Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is the choice of many skin care and make-up professionals – but you can use any oil-free cleanser that you normally use for your skin.
Mix lukewarm water with a drop of your chosen cleanser and swish gently – swishing until the water no longer gets discolored.  Rinse the brush thoroughly under softly-running tepid water.  Make-up brushes love to be hung upside-down to dry, but prior to this blot them gently with a clean lint-free towel.  Make sure they are thoroughly dry prior to their next use.  With this in mind, you may want to have two sets of make-up brushes.  Nylon brushes are easily cleaned as well.  Simply wet the brush and a bit of your chosen cleanser and gently work in.  Do not rub up the shaft of the bristles… only rub downward repeatedly.  As with a natural bristle brush – nylon bristle brushes should be blotted gently and hung to dry.  Never set a wet brush on its handle, and never use heat on any of your brushes.
For a quick cleaning – when you don’t have time to wait for extended drying use a brush cleaner such as Japonesque Professional Brush Cleaner.  This has a mild citrus scent and helps to condition the bristles – but this should not replace a good soap and water brush cleaning.  Vinegar and water can also be used and has some disinfectant properties as well.
Remember you need not purchase any special products to clean your brushes.  If your facial cleanser removes dirt and oils off of your face it will remove dirt and oils off of you make-up brushes.  Just handle your brushes with care and they will serve you well for years!

Quick Tricks: Look Beautiful Instantly...

De-Puff Your Morning Face

Woke up looking bloated?  There are many mornings I just do not want to face the day.  I look in the mirror and see the results of my favorite foods such as olives, pizza and fast food!!

Sleeping face down causes fluid to pool under skin, and eating sodium-rich foods -- such as last night's Chinese takeout -- makes you retain water.

The solution is as simple as reaching for your freezer.  A bag of frozen vegetables, especially peas or corn, conforms to the face perfectly, bringing down swelling in about five minutes.

I think we all can agree that this is a quick, easy and cheap way to help start your day a little better!

  1. Reduce alcohol consumption
  2. Eat a low salt diet

10 Makeup Tips To Help You Look Good In Pictures

I was once again on my new favorite site Pinterest and I came across this fabulous beauty tip I wanted to share.  Picture time for many can often feel like a drag.  Does our hair look nice?  How do our clothes look?  How is our makeup?  Do I have too much or should I wear more?  I am sure you have asked yourself or your loved ones at least one of those questions before getting a picture taken.

I think it just might help to have some makeup tips to help that important picture day go a little bit smoother.

  1. Use Mattes ~ Mattes are flat colors. They don’t have any sparkle or shimmer. When you are going to be photographed you want to avoid anything that is going to reflect light on your face. The camera flash and the added shimmer will leave you looking like an oil spill and not your beautiful self..
  2. Apply in Natural Light ~  For best results apply your make up in natural light. Indoor lighting can alter the appearance of your make up. Some lights may wash you out causing you to apply make up too heavily. We’ve all seen pictures of ourselves where we thought our make up was good before we left the house, but in pictures we are left to wonder what went wrong and how to look good in pictures in the future.
  3. Use Yellow Tinted Powder ~  Yellow tinted powder is better than shimmery or translucent powders for pictures. The other powders will reflect the light leaving you with a shine. They may also leave you looking washed out in pictures.
  4. Blend in Under Eye Concealer ~  Most of us try to cover up dark circles under our eyes with a little concealer. For everyday use this is fine, but occasionally in pictures under eye concealer comes off a little harsh. Blend out the concealer extremely well. If your concealer isn’t well blended it may reveal fine lines and awkward coloring around the eye.
  5. Black Liner & Black Mascara ~  Many experts suggest using black liner and black mascara. If you normally use browns, opt for black. The darker hue will give you better contrast. The contrast will make your eyes pop more.
  6. Blush ~  Skipping blush will wash your face out, especially under a heavy flash. Blush adds definition to your face. Without it you end up looking like a blob with eyes. Don’t over apply blush either. Start light and add more if needed.
  7. Don't Skip Lipstick ~  Don’t forget your lipstick. Skipping lipstick will cause your mouth to blend in with the rest of your face. You need to contrast your features for best results.
  8. Avoid Shadows ~  Try not to create any shadows on your face with make up. Don’t apply dark shadows below the eyes. Also learn how to position your face towards the camera to not create shadows across your face or under your chin.
  9. Contour With Highlight ~  Learning to contour and highlight your facial features can be simple and is very important.  You can use bronzer a shade or two darker than your natural color to brush on under your cheek bones, under your chin, along either side of your nose, and the outer corners of your forehead. Apply a lighter color on the areas that light hits. Apply it to the tops of your checks, center of your forehead, and the bridge of your nose.
  10. Whiten Eyes ~  Don’t forget to use eye drops to get rid of any red lines in your eyes. Those pesky bloodshot eyes can really mess up a good picture. You can also help your eyes look bigger and clearer by using a little white shadow on the inside corners of both eyes.

Learning how to look good in pictures can be both fun and simple with a couple of helpful make up tips. Always remember you are beautiful no matter what makeup you wear or how a picture come out.  That is what makes these makeup tips so great.  You are highlighting the beauty you already have.

Remember to have fun.  Depending on the type a picture you are getting (wedding, graduation) perhaps taking a few practice shots would help.  Do you have any other suggestions about how to look good in pictures?

How to Get Those Long, Lustrous Lashes We All Want

Long, Lustrous lashes was the top makeup trend at the 2011 Grammy’s, and was used on most celebrities, such as Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna.  As being a Avon Representative I am often asked many makeup tips and one of them being on applying mascara and which of Avon's mascaras I would recommend.

I have always loved Avon's Super Extend Mascara for me.  This waterproof mascara goes one smooth and is just as easy to remove.  I love the way my eyes look, but I do wish it came in brown.  As far as tips, I believe it often depends on the individual and what their needs are, but have always had a few tips sure to help anyone get the results they want for longer, fuller lashes.  Here are my quick and easy tips on how to get fuller, longer eye lashes, and the products I recommend.

1.Be sure to curl your lashes.  This helps your lashes to look longer, and have more depth.

2. A lash primer is key. This allows you to build and build lashes without “mucking” them up with too much mascara. Start at the base or the lash, and work your way up. It’s important to have a thick eyelash base, and a thin tip.

3. Choose a gentle, yet effective mascara. and one that also gives you the performance you want. Most women aren’t willing to sacrifice that key performance, so to get both healthy ingredients and quality is the holy grail.
Did you know that most mascara has ingredients like shellac (used to put shine on wood), tar (used to pave the roads), and Mercury (a known toxin)? It’s true. It’s amazing what companies put into their mascara just to make it last long, and to make you look pretty. Be sure to research the ingredients that you are using in your cosmetics.
Avon's two favorite mascaras Super Extend Mascara and Sonic Boost Vibrating Mascara are both free of all toxins such as shellac, tar and Mercury.

It’s great to have beautiful lashes, just be sure you are being healthy about it. These tips should help!

12 Beauty Tips For Amazing Eye Shadow Everytime

Would you like to apply your eye shadow perfectly every time?  Here are 12 tips for beautiful eyes all the time.
It is just as critical for your makeup to be polished and look beautiful as it is for your clothing choices to stunning.  We’ve all seen women who were very uninformed as to the proper application of eye shadow.  On the other hand, we’ve also seen women who know how to correctly apply their eye shadow and they look put together and beautiful. You want to be one of those women don’t you? Of course you do, so today I am going to give you some great tips to make that possible.
In reality, putting eye shadow on correctly isn’t all that difficult.  It is simply a matter of finding the appropriate technique and look for you and your unique style.   Here are some tips you can begin using today.
  1. Apply a base coat on your eyes just as you do on the rest of your face. You can either use loose powder or you can apply foundation to the eye area.  This gives you a nice even palette to work with.
  2. Blend, blend, blend and then blend again! Just to prove my point, try this.  Blend one eye and on the other eye just use a brush and apply.  You will know immediately what I’m referring to, and you’ll never forget to blend again.
  3. For dramatic eyes, take your eye shadow brush, dip it into water, and then into the shadow, prior to application.  Doing this will give you a much deeper, more dramatic color.
  4. If you have blue eyes, shades of purple, violet, taupe, gray, deep blue, and black work best.  If you are looking for some pizazz include fuchsia, turquoise, and silver.

5. If you have green eyes, shades of purple, plum, forest green, brown, and khaki are best. Spice up your look with light green, gold, and bright purple.

6. If you have brown eyes, wear champagne, copper, brown, apricot, khaki, and beige. Spice it up with  royal blue, tangerine, hand hot pink.

7. Navy, powder blue, and charcoal are appropriate for everyone, and silver can also be used for fun.
8.  Applying a lighter shadow in the inner corner of the eye, will cause the eye to reflect and give your eyes a more youthful appearance.
9. To give your eyes a larger appearance, use a light color on the inner corner, and a darker shade in the middle of the eye area.
10. Practice these tips until you get the application of your eye shadow perfected.  This will cause your make up to look more natural and polished.
11. Apply dark shadow only to the eyelids from the lash line to the crease in the eyelid.  Medium shadow should be applied from just below the eyelid crease to the brow bone.
12. Highlight along the brow bone.  This way will cause your features stand out naturally and beautifully.

These top tips give you the know how to apply your eye shadow properly, so that you always looking your radiant best.
When practicing all these steps, take note of what works best for you.  You may even want to practice with a friend if you find it reassuring to get someone else’s opinion plus it can always make it more fun!

Top 10 Foods for Healthy Hair

When it comes to healthy hair, it’s not just what you put on your hair it’s what you put in your body, too.

"Lather, rinse, repeat" may be standard advice, but shampoo and conditioner alone won't give you the healthy hair you crave. For the most luxurious locks possible, you'll need to step out of the shower, and into the kitchen.

Sound strange coming from a Beauty Consultant who sells Avon?  Everyone knows that you must have a healthy base to start with.  You have to have a healthy YOU before you start with anything.  I always feel act and look better when I eat healthy foods.  It all starts by taking care of yourself.  This requires eating the correct nutritious foods, or at least doing our best.

Your hair grows about 1/4 to 1/2 inch every month and the foundation of all of our new hair, skin, and nail growth is the nutrients we eat.  If you eat a healthy diet, you will grow stronger and healthier cells throughout your entire body -- inside and out.

Healthy Hair Food No. 1: Salmon

When it comes to foods that pack a beauty punch, it's hard to beat salmon. Loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, this high-quality protein source is also filled with vitamin B-12 and iron.

Essential omega-3 fatty acids are needed to support scalp health.  A deficiency can result in a dry scalp and thus hair, giving it a dull look.

Vegetarian? Include one or two tablespoons of ground flaxseed in your daily diet for some plant-based omega-3 fats.

Healthy Hair Food No. 2: Dark Green Vegetables

Popeye the Sailor Man didn't eat all that spinach for healthy hair, but he could have. Spinach, like broccoli and Swiss chard, is an excellent source of vitamins A and C, which your body needs to produce sebum. The oily substance, secreted by your hair follicles, is the body's natural hair conditioner.

Dark green vegetables also provide iron and calcium.

Healthy Hair Food No. 3: Beans

Beans, beans, they're good for your ... hair?

Amazing, but yes, it's true. Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do they provide plentiful protein to promote hair growth, but ample iron, zinc, and biotin. While rare, biotin deficiencies can result in brittle hair.

Healthy Hair Food No. 4: Nuts

Do you go nuts for thick, shiny hair? You should.

Brazil nuts are one of nature's best sources of selenium, an important mineral for the health of your scalp.

Walnuts contain alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may help condition your hair. They are also a terrific source of zinc, as are cashews, pecans, and almonds. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding, so make sure nuts are a regular on your healthy hair menu.

Nuts are one of my favorite foods.  I bet you love them even more now.

Healthy Hair Food No. 5: Poultry

Chickens and turkeys may have feathers, but the high-quality protein they provide will help give you the healthy hair you crave.

Without adequate protein or with low-quality protein, one can experience weak brittle hair, while a profound protein deficiency can result in loss of hair color.

Poultry also provides iron with a high degree of bioavailability, meaning your body can easily reap its benefits.

Healthy Hair Food No. 6: Eggs

When it comes to healthy hair, it doesn't matter whether you like your eggs scrambled, fried, or over easy. However they're served up, eggs are one of the best protein sources you can find.

They also contain biotin and vitamin B-12, which are important beauty nutrients.

Healthy Hair Food No. 7: Whole Grains

Sink your teeth into hearty whole grains, including whole-wheat bread and fortified whole-grain breakfast cereals, for a hair-healthy dose of zinc, iron, and B vitamins.

A whole-grain snack can also be a great go-to food when your energy is zapped halfway through the afternoon, and you've still got hours to go before dinner.

Healthy Hair Food No. 8: Oysters

Oysters may be better known for their reputation as an aphrodisiac, but they can also lead to healthy hair -- and who doesn't love that?

The key to their love and hair-boosting abilities is zinc -- a powerful antioxidant.

If oysters don't make a regular appearance on your dinner plate, don't despair. In addition to getting it from whole grains and nuts, you can also get zinc from beef and lamb.  This might be a big relief to many of you out their as it is to me.  I myself have never tried Oysters.  This just might be one more reason, or the only reason to try them.

Healthy Hair Food No. 9: Low-Fat Dairy Products

Low-fat dairy products like skim milk and yogurt are great sources of calcium, an important mineral for hair growth. They also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources.

For some healthy hair foods "to-go," try throwing a yogurt or cottage cheese cup in your bag when you head out in the morning to snack on later in the day. You can even boost their hair benefits by stirring in a couple of tablespoons of ground flaxseeds or walnuts for omega-3 fatty acids and zinc.

Healthy Hair Food No. 10: Carrots

Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, which promotes a healthy scalp along with good vision.

Since a healthy scalp is essential for a shiny, well-conditioned head of hair, you'd be wise to include carrots in your diet as snacks or toppings on your salad.

This one was a surprise to me.  I had always heard growing up how carrots helped your vision and now they also help promote a healthy scalp.  Glad carrots are one of my favorite foods.

The Big Picture: A Balanced Diet for Healthy Hair

When it comes to foods for healthy hair and beauty, variety is the best way to go.

An overall balanced diet of lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, fatty fish like salmon and low-fat dairy will help keep hair healthy.
If you're tempted to drop pounds fast with the latest fad diet, it could leave you with less-than-healthy hair -- along with a growling stomach. Low-calorie diets are often low in some of the most important nutrients for healthy hair, including omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, and vitamin A. In addition to stunting hair growth and leading to dullness, super-low calorie plans may even cause hair loss.

Crash diets can affect the hair cycle.  Losing a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time can affect that normal hair rhythm. Two to three months later, you might notice a significant increase in shedding. This is a temporary problem that you recover from with a well-rounded diet

I have personally had many friends who have tried either a specific diet or crash diets.  They have done amazing with loosing the weight, but in the end the weight always seems to creep back on and the other parts of their body can suffer.  They are tired from lack of nutrition, they feel run down and they just don't look healthy.  It is necessary for our bodies to have a well-rounded diet and not neglect out bodies of certain proteins, fibers or nutrients it needs.

I can honestly say that in my adult years I feel I eat very healthy.  I did my share of unhealthy habits and practices when I was younger and now I know the risks and how it can be hard on your body.  I am 37 and I have not been on a diet since I was in my 20's.  I am not saying I am the perfect weight or that I couldn't use a little "tightening' but I for personal reasons just do not like dieting.

Thank you so much for reading!

Secrets to Long, Thick, Shiny Hair

We all want that soft, silky, touchable hair that we either see on television or in magazine ads.  But the reality is that hair grows only about a half inch per month. Want to jump-start the process? Read on for insider tips and secrets to stop hair's biggest enemy — breakage — and keep strands strong and healthy.

START IN THE SHOWER

Overwashing can dry out your hair, so the less you shampoo, the more hydrated it will be and the longer it will grow without breaking. When you do shampoo, consider a shampoo that is sulfate-free formula or low sulfate formula; they often contain less harsh detergents, or none at all, and therefore help preserve your hair's natural oils. I would recommend Avon's ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Damage Repair Shampoo and  Avon's ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Damage Repair Conditioner.  Both products are Half Price during C-21 for $2.99 each.

Condition, condition, condition. When your hair is well hydrated, it is less likely to dry out and split, so use a conditioner even on the days when you skip shampoo. Your hair should be treated gently, like a delicate fabric, but it also needs to be regularly nourished.  A deep-conditioning product should be applied at least once a week. Avon has many great conditioning products for whatever your type of hair. Avon's ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Damage Repair 5-Day Rescue Treatment (900-846)

is great to prevent brakeage and bring life back to your hair.  This advanced treatment formulated with creatine, conditioners & surface smoothers transforms dry, damaged hair. Fortifies each hair strand, helps prevent breakage and split ends.

STYLE WITH TLC

Brushers beware. If you're not careful, your hairbrush can actually do more harm than good. Ripping through wet tangles creates split ends, so try gently running a wide-tooth plastic comb such as Avon's ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Detangling Comb (288-910) from roots to ends. When blow-drying with a round brush be sure not to pull too hard or you can break and pull out your hair.  When you're not styling, avoid a brush altogether.  Brushing 100 strokes a day is completely old-fashioned and not a good idea.

Stop sizzling. Applying hot tools directly to your hair can fry the cuticle, so coat wet locks with a creamy moisturizing product for protection. Try Avon's ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Damage Repair Heat Protection Spray (194-909).  It can be used for any type of hair. This leave-in treatment creates an instant shield against heat from blow dryers, straighteners and curling irons. Provides lasting moisture and protection. For dry or damaged hair

Choose products wisely. Smoothing out your frizz makes your hair look longer. Try ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Frizz Control Lotus Shield Anti-Frizz Treatment (942-317)  or Avon's NEW ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Damage Repair 3D Rescue Leave-In Treatment (194-875). This will help instantly repair 3 types of damage  CHEMICAL (color treatments, perms) THERMAL (blow dryers, curling irons MECHANICAL (combing and brushing) And, for a glossy effect, apply Avon Daily Shine Smooth & Shine Capsules ($8).

INSIDE THE SALON

Steer clear of scissors. Contrary to what some stylists say, haircuts don't stimulate growth. "If you're trying to grow your hair, do not cut the length, no matter how fried it is," says Josh. Instead, ask for your ends to be trimmed. For a style change, "short, blunt bangs will make your hair look longer, because the jump is so dramatic."

Restore with keratin. Go for a keratin treatment every eight weeks while growing out your hair.  It smooths out the texture so there's less need for hot tools or dryers. Also, by coating hair with a protective layer, the treatments help protect colored or chemically straightened hair from further damage.

MONITOR YOUR HEALTH

Food is one of the great pleasures of life. The benefits of a healthy diet are obvious when trying to watch one’s weight or cholesterol level, but what we eat also greatly influences the condition of our healthy hair, making diet and hair linked to one another. Hair is a record of one’s diet and nutrition, and that means that what we are not eating can show up, too, in both our diet and hair. As protein is one of hair’s key building blocks, insufficient protein in one’s diet can lead to a decrease in hair’s diameter, making hair less healthy and thick. In addition, crash dieting can result in hair loss, as hair’s growth cycle can be impacted, causing a higher than normal number of hair follicles to shed their hair fibers. The conclusion? Diet and hair are linked. If you want healthy hair and beautiful hair, eat healthy foods, don’t crash diet, and get plenty of protein

Check your meds. Did you know that some birth-control pills can cause hair thinning? Although it's typically not a direct cause and effect, any changes in a woman's hormonal situation can cause hair loss.  Check with your doctor if you're concerned.

Manage your stress.  Stress causes the release of cortisol and other hormones that contribute to hair thinning,  The good news is you can reverse the problem by getting your stress under control.  Make sure you get plenty of rest, your beauty sleep is always important!

What Helps You Wake Up In The Morning?

There are just some days when we get plenty of sleep and we still look and feel like we have been out parting all night.  To me I have to wonder if it is just my body getting older?  Many nights I am lucky if I get close to 6 hours of sleep.  I also wonder is the sleep I am getting "good sleep?"  Do you ever wake up after sleeping for 8 hours and just feel exhausted?  What ever it is, no one wants to look exhausted.  Sometimes after a nice shower, several cups a coffee or bodies just want to stay (look) asleep.

In the mornings many of us busy moms or single women,  no matter what your schedule is do not have the time to take hours to spend on our hair and makeup.  We want, (I know I do) something that is quick, that works and perhaps can be done while taking care of other matters.

While selling Avon I have found a few must have items or steps I go through every morning to help my day start much better.
  1. Solutions Vibes Wake Up Eye Roller -  Wake up to a refreshing eye massage that eliminates and tightens your under eye bags instantly.  Feels awesome and I also have sensitive skin and have not had any problems.
  2. Ideal Shade Concealer Stick - The perfect cover-up. Seamless, skin-true, full coverage. Visibly conceal under eye circles & blemishes. Eyes look tired? Gently pat concealer along under eye circles from inside out, then blend.  Hint:  Choose a shade or two lighter than your skin tone.
  3. SuperExtend Mascara ~  SuperShock Mascara - Mascara instantly makes eyes look brighter and wider.  Mascara is a must have in my morning routine.
If you take the time, these few items.  These small steps take just under 10 minutes, but can make you look and feel much better and make your start to the day a much brighter one.

Magic Tricks with Jillian Dempsey « STLAVONLADY

Optical Illusions
Play with light and dark shades of eyeshadow to enhance the size of eyes or to bring eyes further or closer apart.
1. BRING WIDE-SET EYES CLOSER TOGETHER
Apply darker colors at the inner half of of your lids closet to the nose.

2. MAKE CLOSE-SET EYES APPEAR WIDER APART
Highlight inner corners with a ligh flesh-tone liner and shimmery pearl shadow.

3. MAKE SMALL EYES LOOK BIGGER
Line lower lids with a nude or very light color liner to make the whites of your eyes brighter.

4. MAKE EYES REALLY POP
Add a pale iridescent shadow in the center of the lids and line lower inner lids with a white liner.

Face Shapping:
You can use foundation or pressed powder to accentuate your best features and minimize the others. All you need are 3 different shades: Base - a shade that matched your skin exactly. Highlight- a shade lighter. Contour - A shade darker. The Highlight shade brings features forward. The Countour shade makes them recede.

NARROW YOUR NOSE
Highlight down the center of your nose to the width that you want to appear, then place contour on either side of the nose. Blend well.

SOFTEN A HEAVY JAW LINE
Shade around square jawline to make that area recede and create a more oval shape. Blend borders with a base shade.

GET HIGH CHEEKBONES
Shade round cheeks to make them recede, then highlight top of cheekbones to make them more prominent and lifted like those of a model. Blend base to borders…beautiful!

Liptricks
Use lip pencils, gloss and concealer to transform lips.

1. TO MAKE COLOR LAST LONGER
Apply lip liner to entire lip area, use a lip brush to gently blend any hard lines around the edges and then apply a gloss or a lipstick.

2. TO TRANSFORM A LIPSTICK SHADE
Use a lip pencil as a base for lipstick to make it look browner, deeper or redder, depending on the shade of the pencil. For a shinier finish, use lipstick for a base gloss.

3. TO MAKE LIPSTICK LOOK FULLER
Apply a highlighter slightly above the natural contour of the Cupid's bow. Apply desired shade of lipcolor. Using a lip liner in a shade that matches lipcolor, follow the outer dimensions of the lips and trace around the lip line. Dab gloss on the center of the lower lip.

4. TO MAKE LIPS LOOK THINNER
Blend foundation or concealer lightly over the edges of your lips. Dust transluscent powder over the area. Using a nude lip liner, outline lips within the natural lip line. Fill lips with a pale shade of lipstick.
