October is bursting with the colors of fall. It is the time most of us look forward to seeing, all the bright, beautiful colors. But among the fiery reds, lush yellows and blazing oranges, the color of pink has become a prominent contender. October represents a month of increased awareness and fundraising events for research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and finding a cure.
Everyone knows someone who has been affected by this horrific disease - be it a mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, niece, or friend.
There is so much that you can do for yourself, friend family members and even someone you do not know very well, but might be struggling. Be sure you and your loved ones follow the recommended guidelines form the American Cancer Society for early detection of breast cancer. If there is a history of breast cancer in your family be sure to consult your doctor earlier and to begin these steps at an earlier age.
Get involved. Getting involved in the community and activities can help not only yourself, but you might be amazed at what it could do for others.
