Welcome back to Recipe Thursday. Today I will be baking with my favorite lady in the world....my mom. Growing up I have so many memories from my mother's special treats. I want to share some of my favorites with you! The first one is Salted Nut bars. MMMM...getting hungry just thinking about them. Do you like the candy bar Salted Nut Rolls? Then you will LOVE these! (so much cheaper too!)
Salted Nut Bars
Time:
prep time: 10 min
total time: 10 min
What You Will Need:
1 - 16oz. jar dry roasted peanuts
1/2 stick margarine (softened)
12 oz. package peanut butter chips
1 can eagle brand milk
1 - 8 oz. package miniature marshmallows
Let's Cook!!
First sprinkle 1/2 of the dry roasted peanuts on the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan.
Next on the stove melt the butter and peanut butter chips on low to medium-low. Be sure to stir constantly making sure not to burn. When completely melted add the eagle brand milk. Remove from heat and add marshmallows.
Quickly cover the peanut butter coating over marshmallows but do not melt the marshmallows. This will make your bars too gooey. Then pour evenly on top of nuts and sprinkle with the remaining peanuts. I always press the peanuts firmly down. Refrigerate until firm.
I usually try to take the Salted Nut Bars out 20 - 30 minutes before I am ready to cut them to let them soften. Makes cutting them much easier.
Enjoy!!
